The Steinel remote control security system is composed of two basic parts - the transmitter (which can be either a hand-held remote switch or a wireless motion detector), and the receiver (which can be either a wireless halogen light or a wireless single circuit receiver). The beauty of this system is that up to eight different transmitters can be linked to each receiver to provide reliable switching up to 50m away.

There are two main types of transmitter - the hand-held remote switch, which is similar to a car key fob, and the wireless motion detector, which can be screwed to a wall or ceiling and will activate the receiver (or receivers) when movement is detected.

These receivers can be mounted anywhere in the garden and are activated by any of the wireless motion detectors and by the hand-held remote switch. The wireless single circuit receiver can cope with loads up to 1kw (230v) and is appropriate for pond pumps and fountains as well as small garden lighting systems.
